What an exciting week at Helix eSports. We continue to be blown away by our amazing community, we cannot thank you enough!

From an event perspective Helix had 3 major tournaments on Saturday 2/23.

GGCircuit Spring Invitational Solo Tournament:

What a unique experience for Helix Nation. Epic Games, GGCircuit & Helix teamed up to provide east coast private servers for a Fortnite solo tournament experience like no where else. With over 40 participants at Helix battling thousands of other players competition was fierce and our participants left all out on Fatal Fields (and every other pixel of the Fortnite map). We had amazing showings from a lot of our regulars (the Bloomfield squad who always wins our Fortnite Friday Squad Showdown) & Not Reduxx but the day really belonged to Bugz & Kae. Bugz, a $1,000 Duos winner from the previous GGCircuit tournament, took 3rdplace and Kae, a Helix regular, notched his first GGCircuit Solos win! An absolutely epic effort (see what we did there) from the two of them, we expect some big things in the future from the two.

Speaking of big things in the future, stay tuned for our next GGCircuit/Epic Private sever event for big cash prizes!

Helix eSports Monthly Call of Duty Black Ops 4 5v5 LAN:

The more things change the more they stay the same. We had 11 teams enter this month’s Call of Duty 5v5 CWL variant tournament. Countless new players, teams and organizations played on a brand-new patch (thanks Treyarch) but one thing remained constant. J4L’s path to a repeat championship. After losing a hard fought second round match 2-1 to Logisitics eSports, J4L clawed their way through the loser’s bracket to claim their second straight championships. Lead by Chris “Oog” Garcia, and clutch performance from his teammates Dillion, Phantomz, Smack and Archivz.

They will look to defend their crown at our next monthly on 3/31.

The Forge – Collision, MasterHand Gaming & Helix eSports Monthly Smash Ultimate Tournament

Our third and final event on Saturday was the second episode of the Forge, our monthly Smash Ultimate show down. In the first event of the day, Doubles, the brothers ShyGuy & Phantom (formerly known as AerialAce) took home the prize. While these names may not be familiar in the NJ Region, they are feared in New England where they are both power ranked!

In the featured event, Singles, we had a new winner LeoN. This win is a long time coming as LeoN has been honing his craft over various Smash titles, establishing himself as an undisputed top 5 player in New Jersey! His first place win will net him $400, don’t spend it all in one place my man!

Looking Forward to Next Week:

Our weekly tournaments are off to the races. We have Monday Night Sports Games, Wednesday Fortnite Duos, Thursday Apex, Thursday DNA Smash and Friday Fortnite Squad Showdown. All of these tournaments are rapidly growing and pay out cash prizes. Check out our full event calendar here.

We are also excited for our very first NYXL Watch Party/$1,000 LAN Tournament. Tickets are just $15 for entry and tournament entry!

We also are hosting our first 2v2 ARAM League of Legends tournament on Saturday 3/2. Sign up here.

Thank you all again for helping us build the greatest gaming community on earth.

See you all soon!
